Beginning Body Mind-Fullness
Group for Midlife Women

This supportive group will help you return to your healthy, natural weight while you restore and rediscover yourself. You will re-learn intuitive eating with a no-diet approach, use mindfulness practices, and set self-care goals to:

  • transform your relationship with food and your body
  • heal diet trauma
  • enhance your health
  • promote long-lasting change We focus on the issues and behaviors that are preventing you from caring for yourself the way you want to. Instead of counting calories and focusing on food, we concentrate on enhancing self-care by supporting you in:
    • working on the issues behind emotional eating
    • increasing assertiveness and setting boundaries (taking up space, speaking up, lessening people-pleasing, etc)
    • letting go of and clearing out emotional and physical “clutter”
    • allowing authenticity and self-acceptance
    • finding ways to deal with difficult issues as you lessen coping through emotional eating
    • enhancing play and movement
  • paying attention to and following up on medical concerns Our evenings include:
    • 15 minutes - walking meditation and mindful movement (gentle yoga)
    • 30 minutes – discussion about no-diet approach, managing emotional eating, mindfulness, body image, and women’s issues
    • 40 minutes - “Circle of Intention” focus on self-care goals and intentions
    • 5 minutes - sitting meditation
